The idea of revenge is a major issue in Xtianity. As a reminder, a few quotes
from  what could be called "a  terrorist state's manual":

Ge:4:15: And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance
shall be taken on him sevenfold.  And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any
finding him should kill him.
Ge:4:24: If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
Le:19:18: Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy
people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

De:28:51: And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land,
until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or
oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have
destroyed thee.
De:28:61: Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the
book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
De:28:63: And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do
you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you,
and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither
thou goest to possess it.
De:31:3: The LORD thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy
these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he
shall go over before thee, as the LORD hath said.
De:31:4: And the LORD shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of
the Amorites, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed.
De:32:25: The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man
and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
De:33:27: The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting
arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy
them.
Jos:2:10: For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for
you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the
Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly
destroyed.
Jos:6:21: And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and
woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
Jos:7:7: And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought

Jos:10:40: So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and
of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining,
but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.
Jos:11:11: And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the
sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt
Hazor with fire.
Jos:11:12: And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did
Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed
them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
Jos:11:14: And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of
Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge
of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
Jos:11:20: For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come
against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they
might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded
Moses.
Jos:11:21: And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the
mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of
Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with
their cities.
Jos:22:33: And the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of
Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to
destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.

1Sa:5:6: But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he

the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
1Sa:15:20: And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD,

things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy

heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
1Sa:24:21: Swear now therefore unto me by the LORD, that thou wilt not cut off

thine hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?

kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and
all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah.  But
David tarried still at Jerusalem.
2Sa:14:7: And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and
they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the
lif e of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they
shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither
name nor remainder upon the earth.
2Sa:14:11: Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God,
that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest
they destroy my son.  And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair
of thy son fall to the earth.
2Sa:14:16: For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of
the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.
2Sa:20:19: I am one of them that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: thou
seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the
inheritance of the LORD?
2Sa:20:20: And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I
should swallow up or destroy.

against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of

arose and destroyed all the seed royal.
2Ki:13:7: Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and
ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed
them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
2Ki:13:23: And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and
had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
2Ki:18:25: Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it?
The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.
2Ki:24:2: And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the

them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he
spake by his servants the prophets.
1Ch:4:41: And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah,

thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three
days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of
the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel.  Now therefore advise
thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.
1Ch:21:15: And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was
destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the
angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand.  And the angel of the
LORD stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2Ch:12:7: And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the
LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will
not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not
be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
2Ch:12:12: And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him
that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.
2Ch:14:13: And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar:
and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for
they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away
very much spoil.
2Ch:15:6: And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex
them with all adversity.
2Ch:20:10: And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom
thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt,

2Ch:21:7: Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the
covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him
and to his sons for ever.
2Ch:22:10: But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead,
she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.
2Ch:24:23: And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the host of Syria
came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the
princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto
the king of Damascus.
2Ch:25:16: And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto
him, Art thou made of the king's counsel?  forbear; why shouldest thou be
smitten?  Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to
destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my
counsel.
2Ch:31:1: Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out
to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves,
and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in
Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all.  Then all
the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own
cities.
2Ch:32:14: Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers
utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God
should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?
2Ch:33:9: So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to
do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of
Israel.

2Ch:35:21: But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee,

wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from
meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.

Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the

Ezr:4:15: That search may be made in the book of the records of thy fathers: so
shalt thou find in the book of the records, and know that this city is a
rebellious city, and hurtful unto kings and provinces, and that they have moved
sedition within the same of old time: for which cause was this city destroyed.
Ezr:5:12: But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven unto wrath,
he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the Chaldean,
who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.

were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.
Es:3:9: If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and
I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the
charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.
Es:3:13: And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to
destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, a ll Jews, both young and old, little
children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth
month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
Es:4:7: And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum
of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the
Jews, to destroy them.
Es:4:8: Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at
Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and
to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto
him, and to make request before him for her people.
Es:4:14: For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there
enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and
thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to
the kingdom for such a time as this?
Es:7:4: For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to
perish.  But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my
tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.
Es:8:5: And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his
sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes,
let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha
the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's
provinces:
Es:8:11: Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather
themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to
cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault
them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey,

Es:9:12: And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and

Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is,

Jer:23:1: Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my
pasture!  saith the LORD.

the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to

Jer:51:55: Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the
great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is

La:2:5: The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed

prophets also find no vision from the LORD.
La:3:66: Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
Eze:5:16: When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be
for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase
the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
Eze:6:3: And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus
saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the
valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your
high places.
Eze:9:1: He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that
have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying
weapon in his hand.
Eze:9:8: And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that
I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD!  wilt thou destroy all
the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
Eze:14:9: And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD
have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will
destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
Eze:20:17: Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I
make an end of them in the wilderness.
Eze:21:31: And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against
thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and

to be on all that haunt it!
Eze:27:32: And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and
lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the
midst of the sea?
Eze:28:16: By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of
thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane
out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the
midst of the stones of fire.
Eze:30:8: And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in
Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed.

Eze:32:13: I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great
waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of
beasts trouble them.
Eze:34:16: I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was
driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that
which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with
judgment.
Eze:43:3: And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even
according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the
visions were lik e the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my
face.
Da:2:12: For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to
